Herbal Medicine

Ayurvedic, Chinese and Herbal Medicine

The utilization of herbs from different parts of the world in order to achieve health benefits, has been a practice for centuries.  Ayurvedic, Chinese and herbal medicine is openly practiced in India, China and the Western World.

Ayurvedic Medicine

This use of herbs and other plant based medicines stems from ancient India.  Contemporary Ayurvedic theory tends to emphasize that building a healthy metabolism and maintaining good digestion lead to health and vitality.

Ayurveda also focuses on exercise, yoga, and meditation.  Ayurveda stresses the use of plant-based medicines and treatments. Hundreds of plant-based medicines are employed, including cardamom and cinnamon.

Chinese Medicine

The methodology of Chinese Medicine involves the utilization of herbs and needle insertion (acupuncture) into specific points to relief various maladies.  The term “herbal medicine” can be a little misleading as plant elements are by far the most commonly used element, but not solely used substances.

Western Herbal Medicine

Original Health Institute doctors use herbal remedies handed down for centuries.  Many of the remedies come from Europe and The Americas.
